1982-1986:
Mr. Hubbard establishes a California home on a ranch outside of San Luis Obispo. He researches and releases new Scientology technical materials which further expand one’s spiritual abilities.

Battlefield Earth is released in 1982 and becomes an international bestseller. Mr. Hubbard composes music and lyrics for an accompanying album—the first-ever soundtrack for a book.

While the acclaim for Battlefield Earth continues to grow with its publication in new languages, the first volume of his Mission Earth is published in 1985. As each volume of the dekalogy is released through forthcoming years, each becomes an immediate bestseller. The successive appearance of these volumes on the New York Times bestseller list constitutes a first in publishing history. Mr. Hubbard accompanies Mission Earth with another new music album, and continues work on still another, The Road to Freedom. With music and lyrics written by Mr. Hubbard it constitutes his musical statement of many basic Scientology principles.
